My Vlog

DISNEY100%

One hundred works of art & One hundred years of magic.

Walt Disney's greatest ambition has always been to make fantasy real, true and tangible, so that we can walk into it and touch the impalpable texture of dreams with our own hands.

He managed to do this, opened with his films the doors to a fantasy world that often claims connections with our own: perhaps too 'real', but not lacking in magic. With constant references to paintings, sculptures and architecture, used to deepen the character and culture of the characters or simple Easter eggs, Disney shows us that even taking a tour of art places such as museums, cathedrals or archaeological sites can be a way into that fantasy world.

One could even see in its Classics a colourful moving museum, which continues to enhance the most beautiful and famous works of art enriching its stories at the same time.

If every museum has its own guide
this one couldn't be missing:
here is an itinerary among the artistic quotations of the Disney Classics. It will be a journey through the centuries and continents guided by the stories that have enchanted and continue to enchant spectators of all ages.

My Story

M4 was created to show how, in the age of digital tourism, cinema can be used to promote and enhance museums and art institutions.

A relationship that has been anything but peaceful since its origins, that between art and cinema, but which has changed the art system forever. A close and dynamic relationship, made up of exchanges, loans and moulds evident in the products of first-rate directors such as Alfred Hitchcock, David Lynch or Pier Paolo Pasolini.

A film, in fact, can be much more intense than a simple glimpse into the art world: it can establish bonds, arouse emotions that are impossible to forget and that result in a greater attachment to the spectator.

A painting, or a sculpture, after all, is like a part frozen in time of the story it tells.

Like a paused film.
